OVER 60 YEARS MATTHAIOU FAMILY IS COMMITTED TO ELEVATORS
1946
George A. Matthaiou creates a functional component manufacturing craft industry.
1955
Establishes Georgios Matthaiou Company, influenced by the intense building constructions of the time while having as inspiration the corresponding German companies, having exclusive activity the construction elevator components. The Company was fully dedicated in elevator components since then, filling the gap that existed in the Greek market. The first product of the newly founded company was the lock semi doorframes.
1960
Georgios Matthaiou Company settled first in a private owned area in the city of Thessaloniki, in the area of Agion Panton.
1971
As a result of the rapid development, the Company moved to Oreokastro Thessaloniki, to a new privately owned facility, area 6000m2, where it remains until today.
1977
Anthonios G. Matthaiou takes over the management and the expansion of the existing plant due to the creation of new products, electromagnets etc., and establishes Electrometal.
1990
Electrometal and Antonios G. Matthaiou, are the pioneers in creating testing laboratories for the produced safety components and are the first to issue certificates of compliance according to European standards.
1993
Starts an outstanding collaboration with the Italian DMG and Electrometal obtains exclusive representation in Greece and Cyprus, which continues until today.
1995
Electrometal begins its trades abroad, with main recipient customers, in Egypt, Lebanon and the Balkans.
1998
Electrometal is within the first medium-sized Greek Companies certified with ISO9002 quality assurance system.
2000
Electrometal starts to modernise its production with the introduction of new machinery and by creating a design department of electronic components, in order to have a fully inhouse production.
2005
Electrometal begins a period of design and production of new products introducing for the first time the programs 3D, CAD, CAD / CAM and machine tool CNC.
2009
The grand-son, George A. Matthaiou assumes the Management by having on his side, as CEO, his father Anthonios G. Matthaiou and the Company expands its capability, by creating a new building on the existing site, to meet the increasing needs.
2012
The company broadens its partnerships abroad, with foreign companies such as TOPGEARS etc. as a result its export business is expanding in over 15 countries either directly or through its agents.
2015
Enters the area of engines and lubricants by acquiring the dealership of GAND Oil for N.Greece.
